Short bio
Garry Carnegie is an Emeritus Professor of RMIT University, a member of CPA Australia and Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, and an Associate Editor of Accounting, Auditing & Accountability Journal. He was Editor/Joint Editor of Accounting History for 25 years (1995 to 2019) and Consulting Editor during 2020, and was co-editor of, and contributor to, the EE Handbook of Accounting, Accountability and Governance. He is a Life Member of the Accounting and Finance Association of Australia and New Zealand (AFAANZ) and a recipient of the Academy of Accounting Historians Hourglass Award. His research interests are broadly in accounting, accountability and governance, with special interests in accounting history and accounting education. He advocates the accounting disciplne to aspire to reach its full potential by redefining accounting to shape to better world.
