Strategic cooperation between UnitelmaSapienza and Malta

On 3 March, Rome – Malta and UnitelmaSapienza, the online university that forms part of the Sapienza University of Rome signed an agreement establishing a structured framework for enhanced cooperation.

The Memorandum of Understanding was signed by Professor Bruno Botta, Rector of UnitelmaSapienza and Malta’s Ambassador to Italy, HE Daniel Azzopardi, in the presence of the Maltese Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs and Tourism, the Hon. Ian Borg.

The agreement follows the productive visit to Malta in May last year by Professor Botta, Rector and his meeting with Deputy Prime Minister Borg.

The Memorandum of Understanding sets out a structured approach to guide and follow up discussions aimed at exploring the possible establishment of a UnitelmaSapienza presence in Malta, the provision of academic and professional services in sectors relevant to the Maltese economy, and cooperation in education and training, including areas of interest to Maltese diplomats and public officials.

The agreement reflects the shared commitment to further strengthening academic and institutional ties between Malta and Italy.

The signing of this Memorandum marks an important step towards consolidating a strategic cooperation between UnitelmaSapienza and Malta. We firmly believe in the value of international academic dialogue and in the sharing of expertise as powerful drivers of mutual growth. Thus stated the Rector of UnitelmaSapienza, Bruno Botta.
