International Conference on Living Heritage, Civil Society, Sustainable Development
Rome, 13-14 November 2023
In 2023 we celebrate the 20th anniversary of the UNESCO Convention for the Safeguarding of Intangible Cultural Heritage. On the occasion of this anniversary, the UNESCO Chair on Intangible Cultural Heritage and Comparative Law, at the University of Rome UnitelmaSapienza, is organising, in partnership and collaboration with various Italian institutions, the International Conference entitled “Living Heritage, Civil Society and Sustainable Development”, which will be held in Rome (Italy) on 13th and 14th November, 2023 hosted by the Italian Chamber of Deputies and the Italian Senate of Republic.
The event features the participation of the most important experts from different fields of knowledge on intangible cultural heritage and from different parts of the world (from Singapore to Uganda, from Turkey to Australia, from Brazil to Egypt, from Lithuania to Saudia Arabia). It aims to discuss the main challenges and perspectives related to the safeguarding of intangible cultural heritage in both national and international levels, as well as in a comparative perspective.
The event will be in English and is open to the public and free of charge. Below you will find the detailed programme.
Due to the very high number of participants, registration is closed. It is possible to follow the conference on the Youtube channel of the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate of the Republic.
