Tutors

Unitelma Sapienza students benefit from an integrated tutoring system that supports them throughout their academic career.

Degree programme tutors are responsible for guidance and monitoring at degree programme level, under the coordination of the Chair of the degree programme, taking direct and proactive action to achieve solutions to challenges; they monitor online learning and the various methods of developing educational interaction, and provide guidance to students on the degree programme regarding their training.

Subject tutors work in the virtual lecture rooms – Moodle pages – of the degree programme, in coordination with the Chair of the degree programme and lecturers in the subjects concerned. More specifically, they monitor and check that the Moodle page for teaching complies with the standards laid down by the Unitelma Sapienza e-learning model, and maintain continuous contact with students taught in their own subject area through the communication tools provided by the e-learning platform and other tools available to the University.

Technical tutors contribute to the practical implementation of the student-centred approach to e-learning. They provide technical support and monitoring for the e-learning platform and the teaching activities provided on it, in coordination with the Chairs of the degree programmes and the IT, Strategic and Business Systems Division of the University. They work to ensure that students are familiar with the technological environment of the e-learning platform, including through webinars, FAQs, forums and tutorials.

Finally, Process tutors support individual students, not in terms of subject content but rather in terms of analysing learning difficulties, potential setbacks in taking exams and/or submitting their dissertation.

Process tutor
For a number of years now, UnitelmaSapienza has been appointing a process tutor: an expert professional who supports individual students not in terms of subject content but rather in terms of analysing learning difficulties, any setbacks in their studies and their initial orientation through the reception service.

The areas of intervention are:

  • management of inactive students;
  • integrated drop-out management;
  • customer care;
  • reception desk;
  • disability and SLD desk.

The process tutorship is overseen by a dedicated Organisational Unit managed by Dr. Vincenzo D’Onofrio.
