Research Projects

Unitelma Sapienza supports research in areas such as science, law, economics, politics, social, management, and information technology.

Unitelma finances its own research activities by participating in competitive national and international calls. It access funding as part of Projects of National Interest (PRIN) and the European Framework Program for Research and Innovation (Horizon 2020).

The Department’s research objectives are focused primarily on the analysis of issues related to forms of state and government and their relationships with supranational legal systems; the operation of the market; the economic and econometric models required to understand the most important economic and financial phenomena; and society – particularly the information society.

The Department pays special attention to the relationships between the actors operating in these different fields and to the changes taking place in the realm of public-private relations and the interactions between the various governance levels (local, national and supranational).

The main challenges brought about by globalization and European integration are examined in terms of how they impact decision-making, public participation, and governance. These issues are explored both in the public sphere and in relation to legal institutions that are increasingly subject to privatization. The analysis focuses on reform processes influenced by digital, legal, economic, socio-political, and organizational changes, all of which are characteristic of a highly innovative, competitive, and multi-level society.
