[]\">Participation, Lobbying and Transparency in the EU: A Comparative Perspective |<em> First issue<\/em><\/h3>\n<p><em>Edited by Pier Luigi Petrillo and Andrea Fiorentino<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The first issue of <em>Global Perspectives on Culture, Politics and Democracy<\/em> explores the relationship between lobbying, transparency and democratic participation through comparative, interdisciplinary and practice-oriented perspectives.<\/p>\n<p>Developed within the Jean Monnet Module <strong>\u201cParticipation, Lobbying and Transparency in the EU Institutions\u201d (PLAT.EU)<\/strong>, co-funded by the European Union from 2023 to 2026, the issue represents the outcome of a three-year programme of teaching, research and debate on the regulation of organised interests and their role in democratic decision-making.<\/p>\n<p>The volume brings together seven peer-reviewed contributions by participants in the PLAT.EU Intensive Summer School, addressing different dimensions of lobbying and participation: regulatory frameworks, transparency and accountability, lobbying techniques, public consultations, technological innovation, artificial intelligence and comparative experiences from Europe and beyond.<\/p>\n<p>Despite their diversity in methods, geographical focus and subject matter, the contributions share a common concern: how can the relationship between public decision-makers
